Medieval May Fayre

This ambitious event was a great success despite the unpredictable weather.

There was Falconry, a very large inflatable’underwater experience’ a BBQ, cream teas and stalls galore at this fund raising event in St Mary’s church and churchyard with face panting and headress making available too. Visitng Art& photography, W.I.  and brownies and others all brought their stalls too.

The children from our village schools held a poetry and art competition and the results were on display on the church and the winners each received a token, a certificate and the winners a cup as well. The May Queen and her attendants paraded around the church and then crowned by the Rector and the children also provided Maypole Dancing andf singing from the school choir. Wandering minstrels added to the atmosphere with playing and singing in church too.

We have to thank our sponsors for their generous donations and Jan Wright & her committee for their commitment in bringing this event to fruition. The event raised £2,200.

Thanks to all of you who came and gave support in many ways.
