We held 2 CHRISTINGLE SERVICES this year. One at St mary’s and lone at St martin’s both involving the local schoold. The school children sang and played recorders before the Christingles were lit at Gt leighs. Here are some photos of this event in aid of the Children’s Society.
CRIB SERVICE: This took place as usual on Christmas Eve. The church was packed with childrenadntheir families all so excited about the forthcoming event. They listened to the Christmas Story when they helped arrange the characters into the crib and then searched the church for all the sheep that were lost. They also took home a wooden sheep to hang on their trees after singingHappy Birthday to Jesus. Lots of happy excited children went home to bed.
CAROL SERVICE: This service was a mix of old and traditional carols and some less well known ones sung by the choir. The children of the congregation came out to sing Away in A Manger beautifully.
St John's Little Leighs
The churches were all beautifully decorated which added to the Christmas atmosphere we all so enjoy.
