This group was set up in 2002 with the idea of raising funds for St Martin’s Church.
Invitations to be ‘a friend’ and to attend the first event, ‘The Start of Christmas’ a Carol Concert at Channels Golf Club, were distributed in the village.
Since these early days, we have gained charitable status and have built up a long list of ‘friends who support us both financially and by attending our events.
We usually arrange a Quiz Evening in February, a Bridge Drive in May and a Firework Evening in November. We distribute an Annual Newsletter and sell prints and Christmas cards based on two specially commissioned water colour paintings of St Martins church.
We meet 4or 5 times a year for an hour on a Wednesday evening and at the events and a few more helpers would be welcome. Our hardworking committee get through a great deal of work and deserve our grateful thanks.
