Once in every six years the preparation of new church electoral rolls takes place, which means that everyone had to come off the roll and re-apply. The next occasion for the preparation of new rolls is in 2019 so if you want to stay on the Electoral Roll you must reapply by Sunday 17th March.  Enrolment forms are available at the back of every church.

Rev Sandra was filmed at the Great Leighs School Easter Assembly.

Little Leighs church is open every day with coffee and biscuits available. Dogs also have water and biscuits and this is popular with those walking the Essex Way.

LENT and EASTER in the Leighs

Ash Wednesday     Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent and the 4 week period  when we prepare for Easter Sunday. Rev Jackie and Rev Sandra took the ashing into Lt Waltham school. We marked each other with the burnt ashes from the palm crosses. Its a time to remember God loves us and we depend on Him.

Mothering Sunday  Children from the school took part in our service with singing  and helping to re-enact the story of Moses in the bulrushes. They took the parts of Miriam and the princess with a ‘river’ and basket in bulrushes with the baby Moses showing people who loved and cared for him but in very different ways.

All the ladies (and some gentlemen too) took home poses of daffodils.

Palm Sunday

Rev Caroline took our service on Palm Sunday and we did the usual procession around the church following the cross and waving our palm crosses.

It was a very happy service in a full church.

Maundy Thursday

A very thoughtful communion service to remember the first Last Supper with symbolic washing of feet and spilled wine.  We also stripped the Altar.
